Meet The Team at Gelli Aur Care

Experienced in dealing with many individuals with differing needs including those with forensic backgrounds, complex needs, mental health, learning disabilities, ASD and challenging behaviour.
All staff receive comprehensive training upon induction, covering all aspects of the role and needs of our residents.
Sian joined Gelli Aur Care in 2017, as an Administration/HR Manager following a career with City & County of Swansea lasting over 24 years, 20 of those within a management role. Due to Sian’s commitment, knowledge of the services and her innovative ways of promoting person-centred care she was offered the role of Manager in 2018.
Sian is now a Registered Manager with Social Care Wales having completed her Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services (Adult’s Residential Management) Sian has also achieved a level 4 and Level 5 in Management.
Sian also has administrative qualifications gained while working for City & County of Swansea (NVQ in Administration, AAT, Human Resources and Diploma in Administration.) Sian’s main areas of expertise include financial management, strategic management, internal human resources and creating and developing bespoke care packages for residents. Sian prides herself on being approachable, understanding and committed to her role. Sian has a very good working relationship with all staff and residents. Sian enjoys spending time with her family and friends, eating out, watching, and supporting Swansea City Football Club in her spare time.
Tony joined Gelli Aur Care in 2018 as a Support Worker in the home. Tony previously worked in the care sector prior to joining us and wanted to pursue a lasting career in Care. Tony was promoted internally to the role of Team Leader shortly after joining us, as he was committed and dedicated to the care provision of our residents.
Tony was then internally promoted further to the role of Deputy Manager and then Promoted to Operational Manager where he works along side Sian in the office. Tony is a true example of the opportunities staff have at Gelli Aur Care, and how the desire to progress will be nurtured by the company. Tony has achieved his Level 3 in Health and Social Care and his Level 5 in Health and Social Care Services (as an Advanced Practitioner). Tony has also completed his Level 4 in Management and is currently working towards his Level 5 in Management.
Tony is in charge of the day-to-day operations of the service and ensures that all staff are working together to provide an exceptional service. In Tony’s spare time he enjoys drawing and spending time with his family.
Hefyn is the owner of Gelli Aur Care Ltd. Hefyn set up Gelli Aur Care Ltd in 2015. As the Owner Hefyn will ensure the care home is conducted so as – (a) to promote and make proper provision for the health and welfare of residents (b) to make proper provision for the care and where appropriate treatment, education, and supervision of residents.
Helen joined Gelli Aur Care in September 2018 as a Care Consultant providing support, advice, and guidance to the Management Team. Helen has many years’ experience within the Health & Social Care sector having previously worked as a Qualified Nurse and as a Care Manager in a residential home. Helen has also previously been employed within the Work based Learning sector assessing learners, conducting various training workshops, planning, and implementing quality within the service.
During 2021 Helen took over the role as Responsible Individual for Gelli Aur Care and works very closely with Sian and Tony monitoring the quality for the service. In her spare time Helen enjoys spending time with her family, reading and music.
Anwen joined Gelli Aur Care in 2018 as a Bank Support Worker. Anwen had no prior experience in the care sector. Anwen previously worked in Education for many years and has experience dealing with challenging behaviour. Anwen has developed excellent communication and interpersonal abilities from working with younger individuals.
Anwen was internally promoted to the role of Deputy Operational Manger/ Lead Co-ordinator in November 2021 Sharing the role with Ashley. Anwen assists the Operational Manager with the day-to-day Management of the service and also Leads and Co-ordinates shifts.
Anwen has completed her Level 3 in Health and Social care and is currently working to achieve her Level 4 Health and Social Care (Adults). In Anwen’s spare time she enjoys listening to music and playing the piano. Anwen thoroughly enjoys watching most sports especially rugby and darts.
Ashley joined Gelli Aur Care in 2019. Ashley had no prior experience in care before starting his journey with us. Ashley started off as a support officer and then was internally promoted to the role of Team Leader and then further internally promoted to the role of Deputy Operational Manager / Lead Co-ordinator sharing the role with Anwen. Ashley assists the Operational Manager with the day-to-day Management of the service and also Leads and Co-ordinates shifts.
Ashley has completed his Level 2 NVQ in Health and Social Care and is in the process of starting his NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care.
In his spare time, Ashley enjoys supporting Cardiff City Football Club and going to watch football matches whenever he can.
Paul joined Gelli Aur Care in 2019 as a Support Worker. Paul was new to the care sector when he joined us, therefore Paul gained a Level 2 NVQ in Health and Social Care so that he had the foundations and knowledge to work to the best of his ability. Paul is currently working towards a Level 3 NVQ in Health and Social Care.
Mid 2019, Paul was awarded the position of Health and Safety Officer. Paul continued to work in the home part-time while gaining his IOSH - Managing Safely (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) award. Paul is passionate about his role and the safety of others. Paul is now working towards his NEBOSH – National General Certificate (National Examination Board in Occupational Health and Safety).
In the Autumn of 2019, an internal position was advertised for a Training Officer. Paul was awarded this position. Paul has achieved Level 3 Qualifications in Award in Education and Training, Delivery of Conflict Management, Conflict Resolution, Delivery of First Aid, and Food Hygiene. Paul is now working Towards Level 4 Learning and Development.
Paul is passionate about education and training, with Paul educating and training our employees, they are be equipped with the knowledge, techniques, and methods to effectively carry out their roles. In Paul’s spare time he enjoys spending time with family and playing the guitar.
Zara Joined Gelli Aur Care In 2021 as an Administrative Officer. Zara has previous experience working in Domiciliary care, supporting individuals in their homes. Zara is currently working towards her NVQ’s in Business Administration.
Zara mainly works in the office and is the first point of contact for our service. Zara carries out all administrative duties such as updating files, printing, photocopying and a various of other office duties.
In Zara’s spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going on long walks and going on weekends away.
Simon joined the team in June 2021 and had no prior experience in the care sector. Before coming to work in Gelli Aur Care Simon worked in retail for many years and also wrote for a few online publications. Simon is currently doing his Level 2 NVQ in Health and Social Care and wants to progress further in the future. Simon Started off as a support worker before being promoted to Operational Co-ordinator in January 2022.
Simon is enjoying his role at Gelli Aur Care and loves building relationships with residents and staff. Simon has been working hard to extend his knowledge within a care role.
Simon has many hobbies that include running, yoga and going for walks with his family. Simon is a member of the National Trust and enjoys visiting the many different places in their care.
Ross has great leadership skills, having worked previously as a team leader for two years. Ross has training and certificates in Team Leading and enjoys working as part of a team. Ross will begin his Level 3 Health and Social QCF soon, in order to gain more knowledge surrounding the care sector. Ross has many transferrable skills that he is excited to develop while working for Gelli Aur Care Ltd.
In his spare time, Ross enjoys playing football for his local football club. Ross enjoys the social aspect of this, engaging with others and meeting new people, and makes the effort to keep fit and healthy.
Whitney has experience with supporting Children and Adults. Whitney previously worked for Carmarthenshire County Council as a Domiciliary Support Worker, supporting individuals in their homes. Whitney also has experience working with young children, having worked for a Soft Play Centre and an Afterschool Club. Whitney possesses the qualities needed to support individuals in achieving their goals and aspirations.
Whitney is currently in the process of beginning her Level 3 NVQ in Health and Social Care. Whitney has gained invaluable experience first-hand at Gelli Aur Care and continues to learn more about ASD, Learning Disabilities and Mental Health. Whitney continues to develop her knowledge with Management and Training Support.
In her spare time, Whitney enjoys playing Rugby and coaching Rugby to young children. Whitney also enjoys other outdoor activities such as Football, Camping and going to the Beach.
Isobel joined Gelli Aur care mid-2021 and had no prior experience in the care sector. She previously worked in the hospitality sector for many years. Isobel is working towards her Level 2 NVQ in Health and Social Care and has been making a great progress. Isobel has been working really hard to extend her knowledge within a care role.
In Isobel’s spare time she enjoys going for walks, reading, and spending time with her family. Isobel has a very keen interest in cooking and baking which is very beneficial as she shares her knowledge with the residents to help promote independence when making food.
Kelly joined Gelli Aur at the beginning of 2022. Kelly previously worked in education as a playgroup leader and playgroup assistant for just over 17 years. Having worked with younger individuals, Kelly has gained knowledge and experience supporting younger children. Kelly is new to the care sector and is looking forward to gaining experience within her new role.
Kelly is currently in the process of starting her level 2 Health and Social Care NVQ and hopes to progress further in the future.
In Kelly’s spare time she enjoys going for long walks and spending time outdoors with her children. Kelly also has an interest in arts, crafts and upcycling.
Nick has worked in the care sector for many years and has a background of supporting elderly and young individuals with physical disabilities, mental health issues and even individuals with autism. Nick has already achieved his Level 2 and 3 NVQ In Health and Social Care.
In Nick’s spare time he enjoys swimming and going for walks when he can. Nick has a keen interest in his bee keeping and has many hives he tends too.
Barry had no prior experience is new to the care sector and has previously worked in many other job sectors such as retail, bakeries etc.
Barry is currently waiting to start his level 2 NVQ in Health and Social Care and wants to eventually reach his level 3.
Barry likes to keep fit and healthy by being a part of his local football team, also by playing golf in his spare time. Barry has a keen interest in other sports such as cricket and cycling.
Sheena started Gelli Aur Care in April 2022 and is new to the care sector. She is looking forward to being a part of the team and working with all the residents.
Sheena is currently in process of beginning her level 2 NVQ in Health and Social Care and is exited to progress further in the future.
In Sheena’s spare time she enjoys taking her two Labrador dogs on long walks around Carmarthenshire and loves spending time with her family and friends.
